Q: I've heard there's a different sort of sugar substitute in Myoplex Lite? Can you tell me more about it?
A: The sugar substitute in Myoplex Lite is xylitol, which is a sugar alcohol. Xylitol has the same number of calories as glucose, however, it does not raise blood sugar and insulin levels to the degree that glucose does (which is why xylitol is used as a sugar substitute by diabetics). This means that xylitol may not be converted to fat as easily as "regular" sugar, making it a perfect sugar substitute for those interested in reducing body fat. In addition, research suggests
that xylitol, when compared to glucose, may improve nitrogen balance and increase fat burning. It may also decrease your appetite.
